Our Story

At m2, it's all about the wine. Since 1999 our focus and purpose has been creating dynamic artisan wines from distinctive vineyards in Lodi, Napa, and the Sierra Foothills.

Our first wines were crafted in 2004. In the fall of 2006 we opened the winery and tasting room in Lodi.

Our New Winery - Optimistic Opening is March 2014.

We are pleased to announce that we are building a new winery facility in Lodi with an opening planned for March 2014. The new address is 2900 Peltier Road, Acampo, California - YES, it's still LODI!

You're looking at the future tasting room. Our idea is to share our wines in a space that is indoors & outdoors & in the vineyard, all at the same time. The walls are made of extruded polycarbonate panels on wheels and rollers. We can open up the room when the weather is nice, or close it down if there is rain.

The production facility is to the left in this picture, and is approximately 9,500 square feet of crush pad, fermentation room, barrel storage, wine lab, and storage.

Stay tuned as this new phase in the life of m2 Winery (& Vineyard!) develops.

Our winery and tasting room isn't particularly fancy. We don't have fancy landscaping, picnic tables, sculptures or bocce ball courts. Since we started, our focus is on the wine and our resources go toward making the best wines we can. Current production is around 2,500 cases annually.

The winery facility is 3600 square feet in size; our cellar can hold over 250 barrels. We ferment in small tanks or open-top bins, age our wines in oak barrels and use a mobile bottling service to bottle our finished wines.

Grapes and Vineyards

We don't own our own vineyards but for most of our wines we've been sourcing our grapes from the same vineyards since 2001 and 2002. We think the best Zinfandel in California comes from Lodi, so that's where we source our Zin. Our Syrah comes from Amador County. We make Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa.

Growing grapes and making wine are, of course, intimately intertwined, but we leave the hard work for our growers to handle. We work together throughout the season, working to ensure that our wines are made from exceptional grapes.
